[AGO Announces] Annual Bach-a-thon, Super-Bowl Alterna

FOR IMMEDLATE RELEASE

PORTLAND'S ANNUAL "BACH-A-THON" - YOUR SUPER BOWL "ALTERNATIVE"

Your Portland Chapter of the American Guild of Organists and Saint James Lutheran Church, presents "Bach-a-thon '05."

  Sunday, February 6th, 2:00 to 5:00
  St. James Lutheran Church
1315 SW Park Avenue at Jefferson Street
Downtown Portland in the Cultural District
"Come as you can, leave when you must."

There is no admission charge for this annual music event which is becoming known here as a musical and cultural "Super-Bowl Alternative."

Forsake the sweat, pushing, shoving, naked aggression, and excess testosterone that is a part of the "normal" Super-Bowl ritual  --  and that's just the fans!

Instead, why not bask in the spiritual glow of Bach at beautiful and historic Saint James Lutheran Church, located in Portland's "cultural district" across from the Portland Art Museum.

Six Portland Chapter members will perform a wide variety of works by Johann Sebastian Bach, who is considered by many the greatest composer of music for the organ.

Listeners are welcome to attend all or any portion of "Bachathon."

Preview the 2,000-pipe Bond pipe organ at Saint James pipe organ and see it the way the performers will:  http://www.teleport.com/~wkrueger/organ/stjames.html
