The "Little Giant" radio set:

This is my version of a small crystal radio as might be found in the 1920's. The circuit is similar to the Knight-kit crystal radio from the fifties. This circuit uses a tapped tuning coil with an antenna primary, but wired in an unorthodox fashion. If you are interested in the wiring diagram of this set, see below:

This set is very good in both the selectivity and sensitivity departments. In the evenings I can pick up KGO in San Francisco (575 miles away) at 810 KHz even though I have local stations at 750 and 910 KHz.
