I.C.F.T.J :

This is the xtal radio I call "IT Came fom the Junkbox". It was made to try to maximize every nanowatt of energy from the antenna. Since it has no amplifier this tactic is prudent. This set features an antenna circuit that can be switched from series to parallel resonant and a wavetrap circuit for nulling out annoying signals. (No, it won't work on your mother-in-law!) I am able to hear stations at night from over 500 miles away with surprisingly good volume. "IT" was featured in the Xtal Set Society newsletter for May, 2000. I can send a reprint of the article as a "Word" document on request.

I've learned a lot since I built this set. One of the fun features of this hobby is to learn from your goofs and build a better set next time.
